Hiya, A recent mammogram has shown microcalcifications in my left breast. My doctor wants me to undergo a core biopsy, to check and make sure its not cancerous. I'm worried that after 8 samples (1"X 1/16") I'll be lopsided, or maybe the shape will somehow be different. I have small breasts and am worried that the core biopsy would make my left one even smaller. I'm thinking about getting a second opinion. Any opinions or feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. |

| I don't think that a needle biopsy will change the appearance of the breasts. But I believe that you should be informed about the procedure and the effects of the procedure before you agree to undergo it. Maybe you can ask your doctor about the concerns you have, it might not turn out to be that bad. |
